She was nagging me since ever to take a trip together. She felt that spending some quality time amidst mountains would be like a breath of fresh air to our relationship. So, after a lot of planning and scheming, I zeroed down on Shimla – Queen of Mountains and packed our bags. I prepared the car and gave her the first surprise of a long trip. We spent two days there and needless to say, she was right all along.
It all started with rains and rainbows. Just half an hour into the trip, it poured cats and dogs for like an hour. We were enjoying the rain as we had never before. Between the ob and fast pace lifestyle of Gurgaon, life seems so still, that all our emotions seem to be washed out, but, this rain made us feel alive. Just after the rain, the un came up with a big smile and greeted us with a wonderful rainbow. I could say that after her, it was the most pretty thing I had encountered. She was humming some song she has heard during our coffee stop and I glanced at her. God! She was breathtaking.
I realized she deserves more! After all the ups and downs and thick and thins, we have been through, she has been constantly by my side, cheering me up like nothing ever happened and then it occurred to my dimwit’s brain, it was her birthday the day after. I felt guilty for forgetting her birthday but was aghast to not be able to gift her something at midnight. Where will I find a midnight delivery of gifts in a small town between the mountains?
After 7 hours of drive, we reached our destination which was magnificent to say at least. It was a mesmerizing sight at the dawn when the sun was just at the horizon. We spent the whole day walking down the hilly roads of Shimla. Nature was at its best. Deep valleys and high peaks together formed quite a sight. Clouds climbing up the valleys and hovering over the hills, was a sight to behold. We shopped at the famous Mall Road and walked hand in hand conversing like there is no one else in the world. The time flew by and I still couldn’t arrange a surprise for her.
I requested her to go back to our accommodation on account of being all tired. She made a little fuss but agreed when I promised to come back to the streets by dinner time. We rushed back to the hotel and as soon as her head hit the pillow, she was asleep. But, sleep was far away from my eyes. I opened my laptop and started searching for a late night cake or gift shop to surprise her. I couldn’t find any and then I stumbled on this gift portal name Floweraura. It was already 5 in the evening. They promised midnight cake delivery along with flowers but I was quite doubtful. My heart was saying to go for it but my mind was saying to skip that and gift her something in the morning only. With a doubtful mind warning me against it, I placed the order.
During dinner, she asked me if I remember the special occasion and I replied the famous “Yes, Baby”. She was smiling as she was expecting something and I had nothing in hand to gift it to her. We came back and went to sleep. As the clock struck 12, I woke up to wish her birthday as I was about to open my mouth to speak, the doorbell rang and a person was standing with the ordered cake and flowers. She was surprised and I was stunned. How could they manage that! But, seeing her laughing and singing with happiness, it was a night to remember. I wished her birthday and we spend the time talking till 3 a.m in the morning. I know her more now and I love her even more.
