Australia is one of the world’s most desirable and beautiful countries. As a result, the number of tourists that flock Down Under each year tends to inflate on an annual basis. While the reasons why Australia is a great place would take us all day to list, this also provides a problem when it comes to your trip. With so much to see and do, how can you be sure that you’re seeing the best of Australia?
Given that going to Australia will probably fit into ‘once in a lifetime’ territory, you want to make sure that you discover the best experiences while you are there. Here are our suggestions that will make your trip one to remember.
Australian Alps
Your experience of the Australian Alps will differ depending on the time of year you travel there. In the Australian summer, there are a number of excellent trails for hiking, mountain biking, and discovering some of the most amazing native wildlife and plants.
By winter, the Australian Alps receive the same volume of snowfall as Switzerland does in a whole year, and the area becomes one of the best skiing resorts in the world. If you’re a fan of outdoor pursuits, and skiing in particular, then the Australian Alps are a must.
Great Barrier Reef
This is one of the icons of Australian tourism, and it will give you one of the most unique experiences you could ever hope to enjoy. How you choose to see the Great Barrier Reef is entirely down to you, with scuba diving or a glass-bottomed boat ride the most popular options.
We’d only suggest diving if you’ve done it before and know what you’re doing in a wetsuit and with a canister of air on your back. Otherwise, stay comfortable on the boat!
Road Trip
The great thing about a road trip is that you can take in several experiences at once. Driving from Darwin to Adelaide, for example, allows you to take in Kakadu National Park, Alice Springs, Uluru, and a plethora of small settlements and villages along the journey.
Of course, that is just one suggestion, and you could use your vehicle to take in all of the experiences on this list, if you chose to do so. Consider searching for relocation campervans and cars that can take you around the country at a low cost and give you an experience you’ll never forget.
Daintree Rainforest
Not many people know that Australia is home to the world’s oldest rainforest. However, being guided around Daintree by an Aboriginal guide is an experience to savor. Aside from discovering the rich history of the area, you can also take a boat trip along fast-moving, crocodile infested waters, which are also a great opportunity to view much of the forest wildlife from the outside.
Kangaroo Island
While you cannot drive to Kangaroo Island, you can drop the car off in Adelaide and take the short trip across the water to this great location. Don’t think the name gives away all of the island’s charm, however, as you will also find seals, spot whales, and even see penguins that are native to the area walking along the handful of beaches on Kangaroo Island.
